Short Of Breath
Yes, I know. I havent been the most dilligent person about posting as of late. But honestly folks, it would just be the same old song and dance every time. I am stressed. School is really taking it to me, life in general is as well. But at the same time, its those wonderful moments amidst all the chaos that remind me that life truly is worth living.
The show has been going great. Full houses, wonderful fans, a lot of great compliments from people young and old, in the biz and not. I really feel like I have found something I can grab a hold of and do something with. I have barely been in this community for half a year, and now I have been offered a part in A Chorus Line, without even auditioning. Add to that; I am Asst. Stage Manager for the show. Not bad. I am pretty happy. I am really enjoying the slow steady progression that has been layed in front of me. I just want to work my way up, and I am being given a great opportunity to do so. Everyone in DOLLY has been great. Complimenting my performances, worrying about my injuries, checking on me to make sure I am ok and generally being so supportive of this new endeavor. I appreciate it so much. I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of the same faces from DOLLY in A.C.L. Michael, Tony, Chenoah, Caitlin, Peter, and all the staff will still be around. And, add to that I will get to meet a great group of talented performers and begin to expand my network of friends in this community. I can't wait.
But before I even step foot on stage for WVLO again, I will be working as a stage dresser for Dreamgirls at AMTSJ. Rock... Get to dress beautiful women and get paid for it.... very nice. But mostly, I am looking forward to getting to know these AMT people so I am not that much of a stranger if I audition someday. I emphasize... someday.
Away from the stage, life is just the same. Hectic, stressful, but with little oasis' of happiness here and there. But I am happy now. Anyways, I have a little something for all'o'yall to check out...

A Brave New World
On the heels of my previous post, I have a new plan. I have ONCE AGAIN altered my major. This time it isnt so drastic. I sort of just added on to what I am already doing. Instead of being an English major, I am now a Theatre Arts Major with an added set of English courses to remain eligible for my California English teaching credential. The only problem with this new major is that I am now required to report to three different departments in case of a problem. English, Theatre Arts and Dept. of Secondary Education. Lordy... I will be getting a lot of walking done around here. This new plan also makes my stay here a little longer, but its ok. I am sure you will hear me bitching about it later on, but until then...
As for life outside these prison walls, it goes on as usual. I am heading up to San Leandro tonight to see Addela. A bit of a drive, but well worth it. And this weekend is yet another batch of performances of Hello Dolly. But this weekend, I have two on Saturday. So I am going to be pretty spent come Sunday night. Thankfully I will have a lot of people coming to these shows this weekend. Nine or ten tomorrow night, and six on Saturday. So I will have a lot of inspiration to put on a great show. I cant wait. I really love doing this so much.
Thankfully, we are now pulling into my favorite part of the year. With that slight nip in the air and a overcast skies, it reminds me of early fall in Wisconsin. Sort of makes me homesick a little. To alleviate that, I will be taking a trip to the homeland in January, that is if airfare prices and my schedule cooperate. Come on karma, reward me! As for now, its just me, school, getting things ready for next semester (which includes making time to be an Ast. Stage Manager for WVLO's next show, A Chorus Line). So to all of you who call me a workoholic, you are right. There I finally admitted it. Take a picture, call the president... mark this date down on your calendars.
Ok, thats enough of that. I am off to get some odds and ends done around campus, such as arguing a lame parking ticket I recieved yesterday. More on that later when the anger inspires me. I am in a far too positive mood to rant. I hope all is well for all of you out there. If I haven't heard from you in awhile, drop me a line. Or hey, if you are a reader and you just happened to stumble upon this site, say hey and email me. Peace...
