Musical Energy

Have you ever had the feeling that music just has a certain power in life? That the right song can just spur you into action? Over the past two days, that has been my life. I don't know why. For instance, I was coming back from working with my brother, and I was driving through Los Gatos. I got a stop light, and while I was stopped, Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots came on. Now, for those of you who don't know the song, it starts with a country-esque riff, then the music cuts for a second. Then, all of a sudden, the whole band comes in on the down beat with the main line. Well, with the summer breeze running through my car, my radio turned to a modest level, after a day of tiring, but satisfying work, that intro felt so good to hear. Just made me happy and mellow, and in perfect harmony with the world. Then, as if planned, the light turned green EXACTLY as the downbeat hit where the whole band thunders in together. Got such a charge out of that! It was like having a soundtrack to my everyday life, like in movies.

Other than that, I have just been having these awesome moments where totally appropriate songs are coming on at certain times. Like me feeling a killer happy high on the way to work this morning when all of a sudden Hard To Handle by the Black Crowes comes on. Awesome song. It just been like this all week. Also, today while I was folding laundry, I dipped into my old vinyl and listened to the old Monkee's LP... Totally old skool.

Add to all of this that the weather has been uber-bitchin, and I am one happy Irishman! With weather like this, just popping in Sublime makes me crave a beach trip...

Well, its been a killer week, and now for a busy weekend of shows, homework, auditions, hopefully callbacks, and maybe some sleep! Gotta love being an actor! Peace...

A Special One

Just for my USC readers, and you know who you are... here is a little something thanks to an old post of Mel's. Check it out...

There's a Trojan on your computer!

I hope you likey. As for me, I am off to campus to finish HW and meet with my scene partner. On another side note, this weather freaking rocks. I love being able to chill in sandals and shorts, in March. Back in Greendale, there is still snow... Sorry Wisconsin, here is where Cali has seriously got you beat.

Well, I hope all of ya are enjoying this rad weather. I know I have GOT TO hit up Santa Cruz damn soon to recharge the batteries in lieu of my probably not being able to take my So. Cal. trip due to lack of funds and needing to prep for auditions. Ohh well. Santa Cruz it is, cheaper and a helluva lot of fun. I can drop in on the Emilys, catch some rays, grab a slice and a flick, and maybe even camp out... Ohh yeah... Ok Farmer, relax, still got work to do today... I betta get to work before I just start impulsively driving over the mountian... Peace...

Hot-Rod-A-Blog

I have added so many cool features to The Daily Farmer recently, that I just had to add one more... If you will notice, at the bottom of each post, there is a comments option now! You dont have to fill in your email address or webpage URL if you don't want to. But it will make quick reference to you faster, especially to those of you who are blog heads and want more traffic on your site. So yeah, now you can tell me such things as...

"Hey Farmer, you suck."
"Farmer, I am your love slave."
"TDF, I am having your baby."

Or something like that... Just hopefully more of #2 than anything else... Well, before I go off to start my day, I leave you with some words of wisdom that have come to mind in the past few days...

~ Never try to lower a drop after having three glasses of champagne.
~ Sometimes, you just gotta get down and do the white-boy boogie.
~ It is far easier to play guitar after having three margaritas and a homemade mudslide or two.
~ When all else fails, walk to Safeway.
~ Small hyper kid + 4 pound, hyper dog = Tired dog who just wants to be left alone goddamnit!
~ The tuna at Saturn Cafe is lethal.
~ "Jesus is a sellout."

Well, that about does it for now. Ohh, one more thing. During a trip to Santa Cruz last night, Ceara and I went to Saturn Cafe. (Hence the tuna crack before.)

If any of you happen to go there and sit at a booth near the window on the Pacific Ave side of the cafe somewhat near to the bar, check out a little something I left behind in the booth table amongst all the toys in the clear top display. If you can email me and let me know you saw it, and what it is, you get a prize. Its pretty obvious that I left it there. It's about the size of a biz card.

Well, that about does it for now. Have a good one. Peace...
